Our extra-curricular highlights
CWA Public Speaking
Girilambone Public School is proud to offer students a wonderful opportunity to participate in the annual CWA Public Speaking Competition, held each year in Term 2. This exciting event allows our primary students to compete alongside peers from schools across the Central Western, Far Western, and Oxley Groups.
The CWA competition encourages students to develop confidence, creativity, and effective communication skills by presenting speeches in a friendly yet competitive environment. It is a valuable experience that helps our students build important public speaking abilities while connecting with other young learners from the wider region.
Sport
Sport plays a vital role in our school community, providing students of all ages and abilities with opportunities to stay active, build confidence, and develop important skills. We offer a variety of sporting activities and programs designed to support beginners as well as those seeking more competitive challenges. Our students participate in combined hub sports events, interschool competitions, skill development programs, and the Premier’s Sporting Challenge, encouraging them to engage fully and develop both physically and personally.
Trips and excursions
At Girilambone Public School, we believe in the value of learning beyond the classroom. Our students from Kindergarten to Year 6 have exciting opportunities to go on excursions that allow them to explore new places, experience different cultures, and broaden their understanding of the world.
We ensure that all students can participate in these educational trips, making memories that support their growth and learning. Past excursions have taken our students to amazing destinations such as the Gold Coast, Sydney, Canberra, and the Dubbo Western Plains Zoo.
These experiences help to enrich the curriculum and inspire curiosity, giving students a chance to see and do things that bring their studies to life.
