School events bring learning to life and help shape our school culture. They help students build confidence, connect with others and celebrate their progress. Events also give families a chance to be involved in school life and share in their child’s achievements.

ANZAC Day

Date: 25 April 2025

Each year, our school proudly marches at the Nyngan ANZAC Service to honour the bravery and sacrifice of Australia’s servicemen and women.

We also take part in ANZAC Day services in the nearby villages of Girilambone and Coolabah, strengthening our connection to these communities and their proud history.

NAIDOC Day

Date: Term 3

Each year in Term 3, our school proudly participates in NAIDOC Day, a meaningful celebration that honours the rich culture, history, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Together with other small schools in our local hub, we come together for NAIDOC Day events to engage in gatherings, along with other collaborative activities, provide valuable opportunities for our students to learn about Indigenous heritage, build connections, and demonstrate respect.

Book Week

Date: Term 3

At Girilambone Public school, Book Week is a highlight of the year, celebrating the joy of reading, imagination, and creativity. Each year, students eagerly participate in a variety of activities designed to inspire a love of literature and storytelling.

We warmly invite parents and members of the community to join us in these celebrations and share in the excitement of Book Week.
